Can you identify this blown component?

My MacBook Pro started smoking when plugged into the charger. The smoke was coming from the back, about 1.5 inches from the power connector on the bottom of the logic board. It looks like the brown component in the photo has exploded (right end black and charred).

So what is that - a capacitor? what spec?

I expect the local repair places will just want to replace the entire board.

With the help of someone better at soldering than me, we replaced the capacitor. No smoke, but the laptop is still dead. I guess something else went wrong that caused the capacitor to blow. Time for a new logic board.

That would be C3898 is a capacitor with the following specs:

4.7UF

1206 package

X7R-CERM

50V voltage

10% tolerance

All depends of the repair shop, if they have the equipment to remove and replace this. Not difficult.
