The sixth-generation Honda Civic was introduced in 1995. It retained its class-leading handling as it, along with the fourth and fifth generations, had front double wishbone suspension, the advanced independent suspension inspired by Honda's racing research.

Idle issue need help UPDATE

UPDATE.....All sensors have been replaced on the throttle body, coolant is full. What else can cause this idle issue?! Help cause with the exhaust I have it's really annoying hearing the rev go up and down in town and traffic

Hey y'all, I replaced my iacv and my tps in my 99 civic and it's still idleing/Reving up and down, any ideas why? I feel kinda dumb. I rebuilt the whole engine and that's the only issue I have. It's a d16y7 with a y8 throttle body. The y7 tb did the same thing..help?

@tanker151, Travis, Have the car scanned for trouble codes as a first step, could have an error even if engine light not on. Some of the auto parts suppliers offer free code reading like Pepboys, Nappa, Advanced auto parts, etc and some of the guys are very knowledgeable and may have seen the issue often and put you on the right track.

Could be low coolant, air in the cooling system(bleed system), faulty temp. sensor, vacuum leaks(spray some aerosol starter fluid around base of intake/ throttle body, vacuum lines/etc.), if engine rev's even out or change noticeably there is the leak. Recheck a dirty/sticking IAC., is new TPS calibrated(link 1 below). Check the 2nd link for more trouble shooting tips. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Its most likely the fast idle valve, wich is attached to the throttle body, if its leaking air after the car is warm , causes this
