Decided to try and boot up my parents old Dell dimension 2400. The machine started up but nothing is showing on my monitor. What could be the problem?

Check if the monitor has a button to change the input or display type.
Try the monitor on a different PC and see if the monitor works on that.
Does the machine have a disk light? If so, is it on and looks like it's doing something?
