Does Device model matters?

When purchasing a replacement motherboard for my samsung galaxy s7, does it need to be the same model as the original? Mine is the G930F. Would it make a difference if i replaced it with the G930P motherboard?

Yes! Each model varies slightly, though it's enough to prevent a off model MB from fitting in your frame/making all necessary connections.

Update (08/16/2017)

Models G930A G930V G930T G930F G930FD G930P are physically all the same. The difference between them is just how they are programmed before shipment.

I have an uncommon s7 model, so I always get model # specific components...

@felis How do I identify a motherboard model of a died, unlocked S7? And, what is the unlocked model that works everywhere?

Provided that the logic board has not been changed from the dead S7, you can see the model number on the back glass printed at the bottom.

Yes, the model number absolutely matters.

If you get a G930P, your phone will be stuck on Sprint US, which is a CDMA based service provider.

G930A is locked to AT&T

G930T is locked to T-Mobile

G930V is Verizon

G930FD is International Unlocked with Dual SIM slot -- you will need new housing if you get this one.

Your G930F represents International Unlocked with single slot SIM.

Go to http://imei.info and put our IMEI number into the field to find more about your phone.
