First thing to do is reset your phone to reset the network. You can also just switch airplane mode on and off.

If you already know that the settings are set, one thing I can advise is to turn on Data Roaming w/ Mobile Data on. I have no idea why this works, but I see this with certain androids. In order to have Data activated both options must be active.

If it's not working as a result of water damage/drop then please provide more details as to what happened prior to it not working.

If all fails, go see your carrier and see why you have no data.

I tried all your suggestions and still the mobile data icon won't display nor activate. Prior to this issue I had done a factory reset because the soft keys (Home, Back and Options) were no longer working. It was after this that I noticed the data activation issue. I also have approached my carrier, and their suggestion also did not solve the challenge.

This may be a long shot, but I forgot to add this.

Check your Data Usage and see if there is a Cap on the data usage. You should be able to reset it and or remove the cap. After that restart the phone.

It's a rare one, but it does happen.

Hello everyone,I know this is an old thread but I still wanna share my idea about how to solve the ZTE Z970 no data connection ,to make a long story short just go to the apn settings in the phone add your carriers apn then head down to were it has IPV6 on still on the apn configuration menus were you added the apn and change it from IPV6 to IPV4 save your settings and make sure to tick the apn so activate it and there you go I tried I on several units and it works perfect

What and where is an setting? When answering tech questions, don't use abbreviations. Also, an answer thread isn't food. It can't be “old". Corporations won't provide many answers and these thread answers STILL help,
