Back stand of drum won't come out

I assembled the vtech kidibeats drum set to make sure it was working and in good condition. I put the back drum stand into its place and when I tried to take the stand back out so that I could put it back into the box it wouldn't come out. Is there a way to take it out or is it that once the back stand is put in, it doesn't come out again?
