Interrupted Firmware Update & now player will not turn off

The update got interrupted & now the player will not turn off. I've unplugged it & when plugged back in it reverts to opening screen (Sony) I am not able to turn off the player either manually or with remote. What to do. Thank you.

Download the firmware manually and update via USB.
