HP A10 Printing Mailbox hacks?
Does anyone have any idea for hacks on the old HP Printing Mailbox? This is also known as the HP A10 printer or the HP Q8061 printer.
These printers were designed in 2006 for seniors to "receive" e-mail (it has a built in modem that called out to the "presto" service 5 times a day and if it "got" an e-mail, would print it out). The Presto service discontinued in September 2017.
The ONLY interface on this printer is the RJ11 phone line.
Does anyone know of any hacks to keep these printers alive or to make them work with a PC (somehow)?
Does anyone even know if they have some kind of built in diagnostics (to at least test them)?
Thanks

So your asking a question about an answer to a question that nobody was asking? ... Just kidding :D But seriously, the time to reverse engineer these things communications has come and gone if the service for it is no longer available anywhere.

Well, they proved to be pretty unpopular, especially with as $149 price point and $9.95 (later $12.95) per month service fee just to give the grandparents the ability to "print out e-mails.
Right now there are 14,000 units available and literally the only items of value we had on our sample was the power brick and the 8 year old expired ink.
