Looping chime after aborted boot

My MacBook Air stopped working after an aborted boot that took really long.. now it will show a black screen with backlight and will remain playing the boot chime every ~2 seconds.. I've tried to reset everything (SMC/PRAM and such) booting without trackpad, booting without webcam attacced. Booting without the IOBoard power and data cables disconnected will show backlight and fan will go up to fullspeed (but this takes a few seconds) (booting without only data cables disconnected gives the same behavior)

SSD is fine, booted in a MacBook pro to take backup and reinstalled a completely clean OS onto it.

My guess.. either RAM or BIOS? Maybe IOBoard? Has someone seen this problem before?
