Can you resize the info window?

I have had a 55" Vizio for about 10 years and have absolutely loved it. We recently moved and bought a 50" Vizio. The info bar on the new TV is so small we can't see it. We can barely see the channel it is on or the info about the show. Is there a way to make that larger like the older TVs?

Hi @myextra99,

What is the signal source of the TV?

Is it from the antenna or from a “box” of some description?

If from a “box” have you checked the settings in the box to ensure that things like aspect ratio and other settings that affect the picture are OK?

From an antenna direct to the tv

Hi,

The user manual - see p.20 does not show the options but have you checked in the Picture Mode Edit setting menu to see if there are any settings that allow you to resize what is displayed?

Has the problem always been there or has it just occurred?

If just recently occurred try resetting the TV back to factory default and check the result. See p.37 of the manual

I checked the picture mode and nothing that worked. I just got the tv a couple weeks ago and probably should send it back if it was not so much trouble. In factory settings it was as it is now, way too small. I checked other web sites and it seems there isn't a fix! Whoever designed it sure must have super power eye sight!!. Thanks for trying

Hi,

Try contacting Vizio by email about the problem. Be polite but firm that this is not good enough.

Ask if there is a firmware update that may fix the problem or if the problem can be passed onto their technical department or if their technical department can contact you about it

Vizio states that the TV firmware is updated via the internet using settings in the TV (there are no longer any manual updates by downloading and installing it yourself) which doesn't help if the TV is not connected to it.

I've found that a lot of companies respond better to emails, because they have to reply in writing rather than if you contact their customer service by phone where it appears that you are being fobbed off.

If they don't respond positively, return the TV and get another brand.

If enough people did this they might get the message.

Good luck

Hi @kreeves11674 ,

Can only suggest that you check that the aspect ratio for the TV is set to Normal (p.36 of the User Guide) and failing that try restoring the TV to its' factory default settings (p.38 of the User Guide - take note of the warning if you go to do this).

Here is a link to the User Guide for the TV.

Hi kreeves, try turning on the zoom mode, it enlarges the text on the channel, so u can see the info better on the channel.

There is no fix. It’s built in. Zoom doesn’t work, factory reset doesn’t work

Here’s my fix. Move recliner close to tv!
