Epson Workforce 1100 prints test page only

My printer sounds and move like it's printing, but the paper shows nothing.

I had cleaned the heads at least 10 times. The test page prints ok, but only.

All others print in white.

The noozle check shows yellow, cian and magenta, but no black.

Minha impressora só imprime a página de teste.

Já fiz limpeza de cabeças umas dez vezes. No Nozzle check aparecem as cores mas nada em preto.

Todas as outras tentativas a folha sai em branco.

Hi @marciblue ,

Have you changed / checked the black ink cartridge?

If the printer is connected to a Windows PC what happens if you select conserve black in .... and do a test print? (Go to replace ink cartridges - conserve black ink....)

Hi, jayeff. Thank's for your answer.

I've tried everything, including change the cartdridges and clean the heads phisicly.

It is eating the other cartdridges while I try to do the clean heads routine!

After all, the black is still transparent.

Just for laughs, have you tried uninstalling, and re-installing the drivers?

Hi @marciblue ,

You may have a blocked "black" printhead.

Here is a link to a video that shows how to clean the printhead. (When you said in your 'comment' above that you cleaned the heads physically, did you do it this way ?)

It is not a recommendation to use the company shown in the video. It is shown only to give you an idea of how it is done. They state in this video that the method is for all Epson printers.

If you decide to try this method, search on YouTube etc for clean clogged Epson printhead to get results for other suppliers that may suit you better.

Be wary of using household products such as Windex or other glass cleaners that contain Ammonia etc as they may contain other chemicals as well that could adversely affect the printhead.

Epson printers are ranked among the most economical printers available, so it is worth considering one of these models.

However, Epson printers can also have issues. Printing issues include printing blank pages, printing problems when connecting wirelessly, or not printing after changing the ink.

This article will cover basic troubleshooting steps to help you get your printer back up and running.

Before you start printing, check if the printer gives an error message. These messages are often clear enough to determine what is wrong. Continue reading to discover the solution.

1. Make sure your printer is connected

  1. Check that your wireless printer is working properly. If necessary, disconnect the printer from the network and reconnect it.
  2. Make sure your printer is also connected to the same network that you are using.
  3. Make sure that your USB-connected printer's cables are correctly seated in the ports. To check if the USB port is working, change it.

2. Your printer should be the default printer

  1. The Start Menu > Settings > Devices>> Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your Epson printer > Manage > Set as default.

Alternatively, you can uncheck the Allow Windows to manage my default printer checkbox to allow Windows to use your latest printer.

3. Update your drivers

This issue can also be caused by out-of-date drivers. Follow these steps to get your drivers updated from Windows Settings:

  1. In the taskbar, type devise and open Device Management
  2. Locate your printer driver and right-click it to update the driver.
  3. Wait for the process to finish and then restart your computer.

4. Check ink cartridges

  1. The Start Menu > Settings > Devices> Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click your Epson printer > Printing preferences.
  3. Click on Epson Status Monitor in the Maintenance tab.

This will allow you to determine if you need to replace any cartridges. Old cartridges can sometimes cause problems. It is recommended that you replace them with brand new ones.

Make sure the cartridges are correctly placed in the tray.

Also, make sure that your cartridges are clean, particularly the black ones. A pin can be used to de-clog the cartridges.

5. All print jobs deleted

  1. Press simultaneously the Windows key and R
  2. In the box, type services.msc.
  3. Search for Print Spiller > Right-click > Stop.
  4. Back to your desktop, open File Explorer and, in the address bar, type:%windir%System32spoolPRINTERS.
  5. All files in the folder should be deleted
  6. Return to Print Spooler > Right-click > Start (also ensure Startup type is set as Automatic) > OK.

You should check the ink number code if your epson printer printing blank pages. Every printer works only on a specific number of ink. You will not get print or print error, if you will use different number of ink that prescribed by company.

Hello!

To start with obvious. Missing color - check ink cartridge itself, then inspect tubes that involved into move inks from cartridge to print head. If you have no leaks and inks are there (no bubbles or air in tubes) - then you very likely need to replace printhead for your printer. As I guessing - it should be 1 printhead for 4 colors.

That is how your nozzle test should look like

If you decide to go with new printhead - you can find them online. Just type PRINTHEAD and model of your printer. Replacing procedure itself - is messy but you can do that. Don't forget to grab pack of gloves in nearest local shop. And - for that procedure there are some videos on Youtube, and should be service manual (with step by step instruction). Bear in mind - that very likely you would need new ink cartridges - as after installation of printhead you would be performing "cleaning" tool one by another - just to get inks from cartridges to new printhead.

Good luck!
