Danielle try to reset your nano by following the Apple advise and see if that works for you.

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer.

Good Luck and let us know if it worked.

OMG !!! I bought a cheap Ipod Nano 2nd generation. It died like 5 minutes ago, i got so worried it had been its end. No charging, no powering on, nothing. I look for this on google in found this comment, Just tried it and it worked ! Hahaha Thanks for ressurecting my Ipod. The funny thing is that I am writing in 21/sep/2018, and this comment was posted in 2011 hahaha. Thanks anyway. Peace !!!

It WORKS! I've had my iPod for like 2 or 3 years and i have 300 songs on it and similar to Danielle's problem, i was using it, stopped for a few minutes, and when I went back to it it was off and not turning on. This information is a life saver (to me) and it is important for every iPod 2nd gen. user to know this.

Thx

June, 2019, btw
