Sleep Sensor/ Lid Sensor Location

Currently working on a customer's MacBook which apparently had water damage. Anyway, it keeps going into sleep mode unless I connect it to power and external monitor. Sometimes it realizes the lid is still open then switches back to the MacBook screen. Was wondering if anyone knew where the close lid switches are? I ordered a new upper case thinking the sensors were in there some where but it doesnt appear that addressed the issue.

The sensor is on the daughter board, next to the ports there is a thickened PCB with a magnetic sensor on it.

Although I can’t say for water damage, you have to trace the wiring all the way to the SMC to find potential damage that is latching the signal.

When you say daughter board, you arent referring to the I/O board where the MagSafe connects too correct? But instead the area where the MacBook screen cable attaches?

Just the magsafe part.

Thank you! For some reason, I didn't check on the underside of that piece and sure enough when I flipped it over it was corroded out. I ordered another one so hopeful the replacement will fix the issue.
