Display suddenly turns a bit red-ish / pink + external monitor issues

Lately the screen of my MacBook Pro is changing its color without any reason or coherence. It like a soft red / pink-ish tone which you stop recognizing after a while but for the moment of change its quite intense.

Besides that I have some issues connecting my external Display. For instance when I'm using bootcamp the screen is not working at all, unless a fullscreen application or game starts. For macOS I haven't figured out they way it's working or not.

A few weeks ago some USB ports stopped working / weren't usable for charging, SMC Reset fixed that.

For your colour issues, id look into nightshift mode. A new apple software feature that automatically adjusts display colors later at night to relieve Eye Strain. How to use Night Shift on your Mac

As for the external display, I usually run a program called Disk Warrior, since I’m not as experienced with Apple computers. However, this support page should help you with monitor support from Apple: Get help with video issues on external displays connected to your Mac

Thanks for your answer, but thats not the problem. I should have mentioned that I am using nightshift, but the color isn't as the nightshift color, it appears instantly and is red instead of yellow / brown.

For the display issue, I tried different cables / screen and ports already, as well as system settings.

I only opened that thread because I wasn't able to solve my problem via google. :-/

So I’m assuming you contacted Apple support as they suggest in the post you say you have read. Apple is usually pretty good on fixes for software related issues. They will have you try everything, and then factory wipe your device, assuming this has all been done, then you can move on to hardware issues.

Perhaps your external display adapter, or one of the TB3 ports is failing. In which case you will have to replace to diagnose it. I would start at the adapter as they are usually between 20-40$ to purchase, and much easier to replace. If replacing that doesnt fix your issue, then you can move on to the GPU which is part of the logic board.

GPU takes quite an intricate skill, and if you’re not adept at surface mount soldering, I would bypass this step completely. You will need to remove the GPU by hitting it with a hot air gun at 315 degrees Celsius. lift the GPU chip, and ball the new one. lay it down with a bit of flux to keep the joints clean. If this doesnt fix it, move on to the next step.

You may need to fully replace the logic board.
