Is the trackpad from 2015 compatible with 2016/17?

I know the parts are listed as different on iFixit but many sellers on eBay list them as all compatible. They're probably just BS-ing but I wanted to check with folks in the know.

Yeah, the sellers on eBay just want your money. The trackpads are not backwards/forewords compatible.

I tried to swap an upper case of a 2015 to a 2016 with no luck because of that trackpad cable from the 2015 not fitting the Logic Board of the 2016.

Also, it’s best if you just steer clear of eBay because that site is full of scams and money hungry people in general.
