Liquid damage and backlight not working?
My LED backlight is not working and have read various other posts with the same problem and it has been suggested it is a fuse (part 0402) Detailed Logic Board Question. No Backlight..
I have the Macbook Pro 13" 2.4Ghz 2010 model and the logic board is slightly different to the 2009 model so I need to confirm where the fuse (part 0402) is exactly. I have taken several photos of the logic board where the LVDs connector is http://s1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb44... and from what I have read and photos i've seen of the 2009 model http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/1204/... it should be located around the LVDs connector. I just need confirmation of the correct fuse before I try and replace it.
Any help much appreciated.

Also I had a spillage on the keyboard which resulted in the backlight not working. The only other thing that has happened since the spillage is the laptop works with the power cable attached (No light amber or green on the connector) but still charges the battery even though it say's 'NOT CHARGING'. Apart from the 2 issues everything else works just fine. I have a Macbook Pro 15" 2.53Ghz A1286 mid 2008, would the LVDS cable fit the 13" 2010 just so I can try before buying a 13" LVDS?

Thanks for your post. This is the original forum I read regards this issue

See what you think if you haven't already seen it.
I've not got a multimeter but I'm planning on getting one to help diagnosing this problem. Thanks for the edited photo, the one you've marked fuse, is that the fuse mentioned in these forums(fuse part 0402)?
Cheers.

If it was the LVDS cable would you still be able to see a faint image on LED when you shine a torch through the Apple on the back lid?

Or thanks, i'll give that ago and let you know. Before i do just a few questions to make sure. Would distilled water do the job just as good as rubbing alcohol. Can't find rubbing alcohol 95% or better, only 70% off eBay UK. Can you confirm which is the LP8543 WLED driver so I make sure I do the job correctly.
Many Thanks for all your help so far, it is much appreciated.

I bought some Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% which i'll be using to clean the logic board tomorrow. Thanks for the recent update. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks Again.

Hi, I have cleaned the logic board like you suggested but the backlight is still not working. I have acquired a Macbook 1278 LVDS cable, not the Macbook Pro LVDS cable. Would this cable fit my model? What would you suggest doing next? Thanks.
