I am not aware of any water damage. I have tried a SMC reset,disconnecting track pad and keyboard and unplugging battery to no avail. The battery chage indicator is completely dead. I know the charger works as I have used it on other MacBooks. Thanks!

It's the onewire circuit, probably a power surge caused or unfiltered by one of the usual aftermarket cheap chargers. Or it's pulled down by the charging rails, maybe a dead MOSFET.

One or more of the MOSFET's is burnt
Do you know where I can get a good schematic of the board? What should I check first? Ill most-likely follow a Louis Rossman video unless you know a better place to find info
I'm sorry but I cannot answer your question about schematics and boardviews. From your description I'd check out the onewire circuit as already said, U7000 IC and all that is connected to it.. the ticking you hear probably comes from from a dead mosfet, but I wouldn't be surprised other components may have been blown around charging IC.
Some of Rossman's videos are very informative about this particular kind of issues and probably the best source of informations out there, a very good starting point.
