Replaced Lightning Port-Now no microphone or headphone.

I replace the Lighting port on my son's iPhone SE with iFixit part #IF327-000-2 and now the bottom microphone used for handheld phone calls doesn't work. It works on speaker phone and there is sound during videos taken from the phone with the front and rear facing cameras. Also, the headphone jack doesn't work either. Could this be a defective part? Did I miss something during installation? I opened it up and rechecked that all the connections are connected to the mother board. The repair went smoothly and it seated easily in place. Any advice?
