Does this iMac have a Kensington security slot and what if not?

Do the current iMacs from 2017 have a security slot for Kensington or similar anti-theft solutions? And if not, does the SafeDome solution also work on newer models. The Kensington website only lists models till 2013:

I went to a discounter and checked out the 27” iMac model. So both 21,5” and 27” have a Kensington lock below the power plug. Obviously Apple doesn’t want to show it – I didn’t find any picture on online showing the slot, so here it is:

I stand corrected! The older models this was the case.

Apple never had a Kensington security slot on the 27” iMac’s. It did have them on the MacBooks but they where dropped quite a few years ago.

The device you’ve linked to mounts to the cable guide hole which is still present on the iMac’s. I do think the current systems hole is the same size but I haven’t measured it. If you really need a tie-down solutions other than a bike cable lock this should work.

Hi Dan, thanks for your answer, but the 21,5” 4K does have a Kensington lock slot, see:

Above “Bottom Line” there is a picture with description. But I’m not sure about the 27” model.

I asked Kensington about the SafeDome with 2017 models, they said it probably won’t fit to the current models; I just can’t try.

As you were focused on the 27" models not 21.5" I assumed that was the question. I clarified that in my answer. The 21.5" do as it is looked at as being more likely to sprout legs and run off ;-}
