60" Samsung LED TV no power, picture, sound, or standby light?

A couple weeks ago the TV just turned off so I tried unplugging it plugging it back in, etc. etc. I believe at first there was a standby light, shortly after though it would no longer display this. So i took to the internet reading many of these types of forums trying to see what was going on. I came across shopjimmy and decided to purchase one of their repair kits for the TV. After installing and replacing all the boards it still appears to have no power and makes no sound. Additionally, i tried a different power cable in the slot as well. There appears to be no blown capacitors or leaking capacitors as well in the new board or the previous board for that matter, no signs of burnt components or leaking components. Is the only option here the LCD strips? It seems like the only thing left to replace, but seems unnecessary as it seems like the TV isnt getting power. Anyone witnessed something like this? Moreover, I checked the model numbers and all those boards appear to be direct replacements of the previous ones, so i dont think i received the wrong parts as well. Anyways if it makes a difference the model number is: UN60J6200AFXZA version No: NS02. Also this is the kit i purchased and installed each part https://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-un60j6... . Lastly, I can include pictures if anyone thinks they will help but there appears to me to be no sign of damage to the parts. Thanks.

Same thing happened with me… nothing makes sense… unless the replacement parts we are getting are bunk.

There's a very small reset button on the back of TV when this happened to mine all I did was stick a small screwdriver in the reset hole and whalah!

this does not sound like and LED issue at all. you do want to check on the fuses of the power board and see if you even have power going to the board. If so, then check your button bar/IR board as well to see if your TV even gets turned on. Post some images of your boards with your question. Use this guide Ajout d'images à une question existante for that.

Couple of things you can check with your multimeter on connector CNM803 from power board to main board:

  • Check Standby: A13V(Always ON) to the main board. It should measure between 7.5V and 12.7V (all voltages are DC)
  • Turn the TV power on: PS_On should be between 0.2V (when off) to 3.3V (turned on) if you do not get that voltage its’s your main board
  • The A13V is then raised to the ful voltage level of 12.7V
  • BLU_PWM should measure 0.9V~3.3V. Backlight on/off and Backlight PWM signal level control. (0.2V at minimum brighness to 3.3V at max brightness).

Also check or the Jog Function (Button Bar etc.)

  • In STBY check LED ind for 1.7V and VCC for 3.3V. If it is missing the STBY voltage check the power board connection to the main board. If STBY is okay your number 1 suspect is the main board
  • Check SDA, SCL for 3.3 V after you power the TV on
  • Of course also check your button bar and your IR board to make sure they are getting signal and allowing to turn things on.

In replacing the boards I even replaced the button. I think I need to put a multimeter to a couple of the spots to see if power is running though. Not entirely sure the best spots would be.

Sometimes you can find service manual on the web. A good manual will have test points and expected voltages.

if the LED strips were bad, you would be able to turn the set on and hear sound if on a channel. Since you don’t have even the standby light, there is another problem. Since the power cable connects directly to the power supply board that you already replaced, this is a mystery. Yes, please provide photos of the entire system. Make sure that all the cables are installed properly. With all cables disconnected from the main board and T-con board, plugging in the set should show the standby light. It is possible that the power supply board you were sent is defective. Try replacing that once more and report the results here.

I’ve got 10-12+ volts with the set in standby or in “ON” mode at the “STB:8V ON:13V” leg… I’d expect that to drop in standby, right? Does that suggest my main board is the problem? Also, when the set first quit it still had sound, but now that’s gone too… Main board? Thanks! Very helpful.

also PS ON, if I'm catching it at the right place on the plug, is at 10volts or so... seems high?

Mike Carr same Samsung UN60J6200AFXZA as the original question? Same symptoms, same overall issues?

when you replaced the led lights did the 10-12 volts in standby mode at the "STB:8V ON :13V" leg go down? my voltage is 11.4 volts in standby.>

As crazy is this may sound, it seems like in you case the issue is you LED strips. I had the same issue with this tv, no standby light, and from my experience no standby light usually mean bad power supply board. But after replacing the power supply board I had the same issue. So I just unplugged the LED cable from the power supply board and the stanby light came back on. I then remove the screen to see which strips were faulty and they all had 2 or 3 burned out bulb on every strip.

I replaced all the LED strips and the TV came back on. I’m sure this is your issue as well.

@tryingtime

Sounds like faulty LEDS. Try placing your phone flash light on the screen, you should be able to see an image.

I tried the flashlight and no image. Thank you Crono

@tryingtime Sounds like a faulty main board then.
