Regarding screens, oleophobic coating and lighter flame

I have a burning question. When I went to get a screen protector applied on my Samsung Galaxy S9+, the guy applied lighter flame for a couple of seconds to the edges of the protector while it was sitting on the screen, presumably in order to make it warmer for easier application. My question is, is it possible the screen and/or the oleophobic coating has been damaged because of this. It seems risky to me, but he had already started doing it by the time I saw him. Thank you.

From what I’ve seen it takes ~12 seconds to put a permanent mark in the oleophobic coating of the phone. Less than 12 seconds but more than about ~6 seconds will leave a temporary mark that glows a bit; but will go away. Any less than 5 or 6 seconds will not leave a mark unless they are using an oxy welder to heat the area.
