Hi, I have a iMac 21.5” 4K Retina display and want to upgrade the RAM to 32GB, I currently have 8GB. I have looked on many different types, but can’t really decided what to pick. Please Help :)

First here’s the IFIXIT guide Remplacement de la RAM dans un iMac Intel 21.5" Retina 4K 2017 Be very careful removing the display as its very easy to damage if you don’t use iMac Opening Wheel and you’ll also need [produit lié absent ou désactivé : IF173-005] to replace the adhesive strips. IFIXIT offers a nice kit with all of the needed tools and parts! iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 3069 (Mid 2017, 4K Display) Memory Maxxer RAM Upgrade Kit
As for your RAM modules you’ll need PC4-19200 DDR4 rated for 2400 MHz its the only option for your system,

Okay, but is there a difference between a 21.5" model and 27" model ram chip?
Your system uses a standard module so besides the specs of the module it's physically the same. A 27" PC4 DDR4 system uses the exact same module as a 21.5" PC4 DDR4 system. But! The rated speed of the module might be different! Check out the table I've posted in my answer.

I have iMac Intel 21.5" Retina 4K Display 2017 3.0 GHz quad-core i5, with 8GB (2x4) of 2400MHz DDR4.
my question is can I upgrade just one slot (4gb) with 16gb, then it will be 16+4= 20GB, or it will it not work?

Hi, I just want to clarify if the RAM upgrade for the 2017 4k iMac can go beyond 32gb as seen on this link: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/2421...
Most of the websites say it can only accommodate 32gb but now we have an OWC 64gb ram modules for the iMac 4k. Thanks!
