Stuck on homescreen can't put in password

I have a zte zmax pro metropcs phone. It won't read my fingerprint, can't put in password, and it will not pordown. Can someone please help me? I paid too much just to have to replace this phone for my daughter.

Let’s try a soft reset first.

If you still can’t put in your password after a soft reset we will try a factory reset.

PS: The website title is a little bit misleading (at least to me it is), just ignore it.
