Did you install the correct patches on the patch updater? I have a hunch that you forgot to install a necescery patch.

I suggest doing a reinstall of Mojave, just be 110% sure you select all of the patches you can when you first initialize Mojave.

Update (11/03/2018)

I’m pretty sure you forgot to select the “Legacy Audio Patch” to be installed on this step.

Reinstall Mojave and be sure to do it the right way. The creator of this patch has instructions on how to do this properly below.

i was installing it in my MB i just updated it from App Store, what patch you talking about please?

par

@ayoub_tl You certainly did not just “update it from the App Store” because this is an unsupported machine. I’ll bet my reputation on this site that you used the Mojave Patch Tool or something of the like. Check my updated answer.

thank you so much, after i updated, i use this tool only for patch i didn't have to reinstall mojavi, and am still have the new update on my MB.

I had the same problem here, and the fix is really simple. Just open the Patcher Tool from your Lunchpad, and then click “Re-Install all”. After the installation, you will be asked to reboot your machine, and voila. The sound is back.

I hope this help.

but i did what you have said that.... but the aduio list reads 0 value even i asked to re install the patcher

par

Yes, this worked for me. Reinstalling all the different patchers and reboot. Even if I did not have the audio patcher selected in the list!

par

Plus you need to make sure you use the right model in the patch.

Maybe try a different model MacBook Pro model identifier?

Good luck!

What version update still worked? 14.2 0r .3?

par

Been having this problem since installed and choosing re-install all did the trick! I'm so glad this was super easy and did the trick!!!!

Basically you can’t use the auto update function or manually update via Apple as the update installer will wipe out your required drivers for your system. You need to stick with DosDude moving forward.

While I sympathize with you wanting to run the latest and greatest MacOS there is a point in time you need to bite your tongue and just sigh ;-{

The highest your system will support officially is High Sierra and its best just to stick with it.

It’s truely a shame that Mojave requires METAL capable GPUs, effectively making non-capable GPUs a giant nail in the coffin for the Macs they are soldered onto.

While these “patch tools” are great in the moment when you first install them, there are major headaches when it comes to updating Mojave as an OS because every time Apple updates Mojave, these types of loopholes get patched requiring you completely re-install them.

par

I didn't have to reinstall Mojave when it updated automatically. I just re-ran Dos-Dude's Patch and re-selected Legacy Audio. Restarted. Fixed in 3 minutes

Wow, how insightful DAN...Sometimes its best to just use "Google" a little longer...There are other options too, like maybe using usb sound device, like sound blaster play, or like what John said....

Maybe, just maybe you should really think about the solution rather than pointing out the otherwise obvious stated standard of Apples cited publications for all to read......Yeah. Apple doesn't officially support that product anymore....DUH!

What was really cool was putting an SSD drive into an iMac that was over 10 years old and getting Siri to tell me how the weather was" not too good "

without any major issues, basically that iMac was "up to date" suddenly and was quite snappy to boot! I like using Mojave on 27" iMacs from 2009 with HD4850 GPU's 8gb and a SSD HDD and thinking that Wow... it was working amazingly well with Mojave.

So good that Apple could have choosen to support them even...but next to a skinny iMac it looked ...dated.

But hey!

What a great return on THAT investment!

Good for you, b Ayoub!

@iiebill - Before you chastise people, re-read what was stated:

"Basically you can’t use the auto update function or manually update via Apple as the update installer will wipe out your required drivers for your system. You need to stick with DosDude moving forward."

I like DosDude tool! But it's not without its issues!!

Even Aaron expressed the drawback:

"While these “patch tools” are great in the moment when you first install them, there are major headaches when it comes to updating Mojave as an OS because every time Apple updates Mojave, these types of loopholes get patched requiring you completely re-install them."

Some people just can't handle the TLC required. Thats all that was expressed!

At the time DosDude didn't have an updater as well. It was just a few days later it came out.

The simple answer - You should have not have updated to Mojave, there is a reason Apple does not include them on the update list.

What you can do - Find a way to uninstall Mojave back to whatever OS you were running before.

Can’t find out how to Uninstall?- Use an external speaker, it is the best you can do.

last version of mojavi is support my MB audio but when i updated it today its not support anymore

par

here is a link to test if you have a software or hardware problem-

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257

You can rule out if it is hardware problems or mojave problems.

Follow the steps and tell me how it goes

The simplest answer is to continue using Mojave and the Patch Updater Tool !! I am running the latest Mojave Beta on my mid 2010 MB Pro 15" :-)

par

At least use the last version that worked.

I want back to 14.3 for the same reason.

It might just be a few kexts were updated that don't do anything but restrict older Macs from upgrading completely, till eventually you decide to "buy a new Mac!" try using THOSE Mojave kexts from before?

Mojave is cool, but not cool enough for a heavy investment just to use it.

...but keep us posted on your results and we will do the same .

Cheers!

TechTalks sounds like Dan,...wow!

Maybe he is...LOL

Please don't tell me to buy a new MacBook. That is not the point. I already have a 3.1 Ghz MacBookPro13 and not sure I want a MacBookPro 16 yet (and to be honest, I am still coming to terms with the nearly $5000 full loaded price and the horror stories that when the digit finger print fails and people try to reset the chip to make it work, and the not been able to access the whole HD after).

I have been going small, buying after my very unique 3.1 Ghz MBpro13 to a smaller, lighter, my first used mac (but new), the discontinued MacBook 12 i7.

But thanks to DosDude1 (thanks! I have to donate!), I have been able to use my old MBpro15 2008 (with SSD) that really flies with Mojave, and the fact that works, really makes me wonder that if Apple wants to save the environment and DosDude has been able to patch this old, maybe Apple should invest a little to make all this old macs work with the latest, as it has been proven they actually can work. It would show a trully commitment to the environment.

the only way i got audio to work on my macbook pro early 2011 is via upgrade from high sierra, first the driver is already working from High Sierra, and use the upgrade method.

i cannot get audio working from mojave via clean install of mojave with post-install.

hope this helps someone.
