I can't connect Stan to my TCL TV or connect my iPhone to the TV

Please help.

I have spent the last 2 days tryong to figure out how connect Stan to my TCL TV. As well I can’t seem to connect my iphone to the smart TV so I can stream through that. Can anyone help? Model number is 50E4900FS.

Hi,

Could you please verify the model number?

Looking at the TCL website there is no mention of that specific model or even the series number even though I saw that the TV is for sale at the Good Guys so I can't locate a user guide to help you further

Does the TV have an Ethernet port or inbuilt WiFi so that you can connect to your internet modem to get access to Stan via the internet?

Have noticed a lot of TCL TV have inbuilt Chromecast feature so that you can connect your iPhone using that.

Hey Jayeff,

You have hit the same road block as me. The model number on the back TV is 50E4900FS. The 50 is obviously cause it is a 50in and the E I think stands for "E Series". They do have a current 50 E Series on their website, but the manual for that does provide any more info. I run the smart TV off a wireless modem and I have buttons for nextflis, youtube etc, but nothing for Stan, so I figure there must be a way. I can seems to find the chromecast option.

Hi,

Here’s a link that shows how to setup Stan on a TCL TV.

Your model is not listed in the link above so it may not be compatible with the app but perhaps you may be able to download and install the Stan app from the Google Play store if you have the Play Store app on the TV and see if it does work and that your TV is so new that they haven’t added it to the list yet ;-).

I already checked that and my model doesn't have the google play store, it does have the Opera Store but no Stan App in there. Thats why I am trying to find another way to connect it to an iphone to stream.

Hi,

You may have to contact TCL and ask if it even has the ability to connect to a phone for streaming video e.g. Chromecast or similar. They may not have configured it in the firmware for this particular model.

It is very strange that they sell a product with no support for it on their website. At least none that I could find.
