Should I remove back cover to fix display connector?

For whatever reason my S8+ became bent. If you place phone screen up on a table, you can see daylight going underneath. I do not sit on it and I never have, but carry it in front pants pocket. It is in spigen tpu case. I used to use a magnetic car mount where there is a metal piece glued to ouside of phone case. That may be the cause of the bending? I honestly don’t know.

Some time after the bend was noticed, the screen started losing touch responsiveness. Then it started flickering and turning green/purple. Then it started freezing alltogether. For a while I could just lock and unlock and that would fix it, or press and flex the phone and that worked sometimes. It kept getting worse until it was downright unusable. So I was forced to back to the s4.

For about 3 or 4 weeks, the s8+ was turned off on my desk. Then one day I turned it back on just for fun, and all the problems were gone somehow? It was good for a couple weeks but the problems returned. I now thought it was definitely a problem with the display connector, related somehow to the bending issue, so I tried squeezing the phone right where the display connector is located and that did fix the issues temporarily. But now the same problems are starting to become impervious to the squeezing. I have tried bending the phone back by placing it in a clamp device of my own making and leaving it overnight, and it has bent back somewhat, but the problems are still there.

I’m wondering if, given all this info, it is worth removing back panel and seeing if the connector is loose or something. Could it just be a matter of pressing on the connector to seat it properly? Is there a way to make it more secure so it won’t come loose again? Or maybe since the frame is already bent it won’t matter? The bending thing is apparently unheard of with this phone. What do you think is the cause?

Thank you for your time.

to open the back glass you’ll need something like a heat gun or the Iopener to heat the glue on the back
