Tried upgrading my HHD to an SSD (samsung 860 evo 1TB) not detectible

So, i recently decided I wanted to upgrade my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) with 16 GB of RAM and a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD but failed lol.

My system didn't detect the new SSD when I took the bottom lid off of the MacBook and tried to use it as an internal drive and it didn't detect the SSD when I tried to use it as an external drive.

I’m completely lost and wondering if this drive is even compatible with my system.

Is there any way to make this new SSD work on my MacBook?

I'm running macOs Sierra 10.12.6 by the way

Ok so I made the bootable thumb drive and now I’m at the point where I switched the Hdd with the ssd and I tried to install Sierra but now it’s saying that my copy of the Sierra installer is damaged ??? Lol wtf

Did you format and install the OS from a bootable drive?

Put your HDD back in and create a bootable USB thumb drive following this guide: How to create a bootable macOS Sierra installer drive

Then swap out your drives and using your now bootable USB thumb drive restart your system. You’ll need to press the Option (⌥) key to gain access to the Startup Manager so you can select the thumb drive.

I would also install the 2012 13" hard drive/IR cable. I use dikes and cut the retaining bracket and remove the middle portion.
