Vertical line of pixels on my screen

Hello. So basically my problem is a vertical , one pixel wide line on my screen. It comes and goes but it !#^&@! me off! Anyway I’ve been on every forum possible and came to conclusion that I should ask this question and since I think this is by far the best forum to do so, here it is. How to fix this ?

Much appreciated! I read that if the pixels are black, they're dead so you must replace the screen, but mine are colored (stuck i guess). Plus sometimes the line is gone and the screen works fine , so I'm not sure that the screen is dead.

This sounds like there is a faulty wire. Unfortunately you cant fix that either, and it will need to be replaced. Try bending the screen in different angles, that may help you for the meantime if your lucky.

Yep, that seems to be it. Thanks a lot man!

Hi stefan keta

I have the same issue with my VX229H!!

The problem appears especially the time when you use programs like" Fix Dead Pixels " to solve or fix dead pixels or burn in problems with periods such as 16 ms for a long time in the setting which increase the local temperature in some parts of the monitor as well.

Sometimes(as you mentioned )the line(s) may be concealed by doing nothing!!. I think that I can not fix it, and nor any other person because it is a structural problem in VX229H model since I have heard about this problem from other customers.

As we know the monitor may run into serious trouble with unexpected physical shocks, over heating .etc. but in this model after a while this may occur by chance!

I took mine to the"Asus Repair Center " to fix the issue and they told me that you have to change the panel but they can not describe it in detail.

It however is not related to the dead pixels ...

Search the YouTube to find some creative solutions which are based on how to push or pull some critical areas around the screen and panel but they are not panacea.

Next time I will buy MX series monitor. My bad I lost my monitor...

Update

1-Considering a more limited color profile and less color depth can be useful. For example, a 8-bit color depth instead of a 10-bit color profile can reduce the amount of workload and distortion . Choose a simple color space like RGB .

2-Heat stresses or small displacements caused by physical shock or over time can cause very small displacements in the position of electrical connections. An expert may open and repair the panel, but opening the panel by the ordinary user may cause further physical damage. One possible easy way to reduce the stress over time is using a micro cloth. Monitor screen cleaning kits are available as well. Slightly scrub the screen in horizontal and vertical lines with slight pressure.Spray the contents of the detergent solution only on the special micro fiber cleaning cloth and do not spray directly on the monitor screen. Do this on a regular basis .

3-Replacing the panel is the last solution that will definitely solve the problem because it equals to replacing the monitor but for a TV there are other parts of the device that can lead to this problem. Check the HDMI ports and cables before.
