What really different with the new Time Capsules & AirPort Extremes?

Hello,

Apple recently updated their Time Capsules and AirPort Extremes, with no official announcements as to what was updated even though their part numbers have changed.

This website did a quick teardown of the time capsule and they didn't find and changes to the hardware.

One can argue that the time capsules update was to go from 1TB & 2TB to 2TB & 3TB. But what was the reason behind the AirPort Extreme update??

IFixIt.com are you able to work your magic and dissect one?

Time Capsule:

Old (2TB): MC344LL/A

New (2TB): MD032LL/A

AirPort Extreme:

Old: MC340LL/A

New: MD031LL/A

The only difference I've seen on the two Time Capsules is a $200 price drop on the new one.

I'm sure it goes beyond the 1TB/2TB -> 2TB/3TB for the Time Capsules.

There's probably some internal changes that hopefully when Lion and iCloud launches, the Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme will take advantage of.

Just bought a new Airport Extreme for my mother and the only thing I really noticed was the 2.4 and 5 Ghz duel selection.
