New LG washer out of balance

I have a brand new LG stacked washer and dryer. When I wash my normal medium sized loads (cottons and polysters with a pair of jeans or towel) it seems to be a little off balance and the dryer shakes and squeaks. It is level and the feet are firmly on the ground. Shipping bolts were removed. Ran test load with six towels and it worked fine with no vibration but with three towels (the installation test) it struggled a bit but finally got to spin. I will never wash six towels in a normal week. I only have 1-2 towels and 1-2 jeans per week. My previous front loader had no problems with mixed small and medium loads. Not sure what the problem is with this machine. LG Tier 2 support says maybe the counter weight is off. How do you wash small and medium loads with heavy things in the 4.5 cu ft washer? The small load downloadable function says it is for small loads of jeans and towels so it appears the machine is designed for small and medium loads. Maybe I need a machine with a smaller drum. Everything I read said that large machines can do small and medium loads.

It’s an LG WM3700 with DLGX3701. I previously had a LG WM4370 with DLGX4371. It did the same thing with shaking and squeaking of the dryer. Within a week the drum started banging against the door so violently it looked like the door was going to fly off. When I turned the drum it made a noise so I assumed the drum was bad and returned it.

Now the second pair is also having problems. I’m on a third floor. The washer is not moving on the floor. The feet are not vibrating and I feel no vibration on the floor. I even put a glass of water near the machine during spin and the water didn’t move at all. So I don’t think I have bouncy floors. My third floor neighbors don’t have problems with their LGs.

LG suggested sending a tech out. I can exchange it but since I’ve have two machines with similar problems I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong with my loads, I just keep getting defective machines, or there is a design problem with LGs.

Wet towels are always a problem as they are so heavy. I would either wash two or four at a time.

@mayer looks like in this case more is better "Ran test load with six towels and it worked fine with no vibration but with three towels (the installation test) it struggled a bit "

My HE 3 does a fuil load off nothing but towels and has no issues :-)

@ocgirl you definitely don't need to buy a different washer for small loads. Any large size washer should handle small loads. Let us know what exact model you LG washer is. Something does not sound right with the washer. If it is brand new call the vendor and have it exchanged. Something not right with it and it will most likely not get better.
