Whats broken? Battery not working after dropped on left side.

Hi.

I have a Mid 2012 15” MacBook Pro Retina (A1398)

I dropped it from about 40 cm (16 inches) height directly on its left side on a wooden floor. After 3 seconds it shut of. Now it will only turn of with the power cord plugged in. The battery is not working, it dies immediately when the power plug is pulled. It says the battery isn’t working and isn’t charging. I’ve pulled of the cover, no visible damages. Disconnected and reconnected the battery. Reset PRAM and SMC. Apple’s hardware diagnostic isn’t working.

It only turns on with the cable of course, but the moment the MagSafe is plugged in, its lit Green, but after a second or two it turns Orange and stays Orange.

Before there battery would be able to last about 3 hours.

I’ve changed the battery 1 year ago, so I could do that again, but is that really the problem? Can a drop kill a battery? Is something else broken? Is there a way to check it?

Everything else seems to work fine. It fell on the left side where the MagSafe2 goes in, so is it the DC-in?

I took a screenshot of the battery and power information:

The battery indicator says: “82%, “not charging” and “change now”….

Any wizards out there?

Kind regards, Mathias
