Replaced screen & battery, now screen does crazy things & no Touch ID

Hello,

I just replaced both the screen and battery on an iPhone 6 with some iFixit replacement parts.

Screen Part: iPhone 6 Screen

Battery Part: iPhone 6 Battery

Now the phone occasionally does crazy things (clicks on things when you aren’t touching the screen, types letters that you aren’t selecting, etc.) and my Touch ID doesn’t work. At first it just told me Touch ID was not working, now it looks like Touch ID is working (you can select to add a new fingerprint, etc.) however it doesn’t ever try and register your print.

I read through and saw several Touch ID related articles (i.e., Touch ID not working after screen replacement) and from what I can tell most people say it is a damaged home button ribbon for the broken Touch ID or you had the battery plugged in when you were making the swap) although I haven’t gotten as much clarity on what the issue is on the crazy touching issue.

I *tried* to be very careful during the replacement and I don't *believe* I damaged anything (at least I can't see anything with the naked eye). I am looking for any guidance on how to resolve either of those two issues?

When I had problems with Touch ID at first I went ahead and removed the screen, battery connection and all the ribbons again and double checked that everything was seated correctly and it all looked good. Again, from what I could see and read I did everything correctly but this was my first time so I am a newb with iPhone repairs.

Thanks for any help, have a good day!

Sounds like a bad screen. I recommend contacting iFixit for a warranty replacement.

If the screen connectors look fine and clean with no debris then I think the screen replacement was done properly.

I'd also try reseating the connector which on the 6 is quite wide and flexes easily if pushed in the center instead of the ends as it should be done. I've seen many connectors that were curved by pressure and had to be straightened back to fit properly.
