Harddrive cable swap between 6th gen thick and thin

Hi!

So I recently started to swap my hard drive out of my iPod classic thick 6th gen and noticed the replacement one I bought was from the thin model. Instead of paying 15 for shipping, I found a cable that will let me connect it for a couple bucks. Will that cause any problems, or is it just that simple?
