Trouble waking back up from sleep mode
I need urgent help here,
I have been facing this issue for the past three days. My MacBook Air when put to sleep for a prolonged period of time (more than 1.5 hours), it doesn’t wake up .
I have dealt with this four times. The first time it restarted with SMC reset (control+option+shift+power button). The second time it took 2 hours before the same SMC reset worked on it. The third time it took 4 hours before it woke back up. The fourth time I did (command+option+P+R while toggling power button) and then followed by SMC reset, that brought it back to life.
Then I immediately changed sleep settings (sleep -> never), disabled and re-enabled filevault and once again I performed the NVRAM and PRAM reset hoping that this would be the last time it goes dead.
Throughout the night, I kept checking at intervals of 2 hours whether my Mac would wake up or not. It was waking up, functioning properly.
But then again, it went dead. The battery is full charged and I even performed a clean reinstall of OS just yesterday.
It’s Sierra earlier now it is Mojave. I don’t know what is wrong. Is this a software or hardware issue? Once it boots up, it works perfectly fine.

Did you replace your flash drive by any chance ?

Flash drive as in external USB?

I did not replace anything. I did a clean reinstall of OS and changed sleep settings. That's all. I am positive that there was no liquid spill either. Simple google search is hinting at a dead SMC.

@Samarjeet Kaur Nope, I meant the internal Ssd. In case it was purchased used I'd check what is installed with Utilities/System information. If you had it since new from Apple just disregard my question.
