Phone turns on, but nothing else
I can turn on my iPhone 5s but that’s it. There is no response to touching the screen. I have been using this phone since the Fall of 2015 with no issues or complaints. To shut off phone I must hold both power button and home button and release them so it does not reboot. When this first occurred I could reboot it a few times and it would begin to function properly for a few minutes; but the screen would stop responding after a few minutes. Now, rebooting numerous times has no effect. I am thinking I can repair this myself, if I am aware of what to do. Thanks for any replies. (No, I don’t want a new phone. I’m cheap cheap cheap)
Cette question est-elle utile ?
Personally if troubleshooting this problem, I would open up the unit and do a visual inspection for damaged components, loose connections etc. If booting properly but no touch response, it may be a case of a malfunctioning digitizer unit; maybe try cleaning and reseating the flex cable to that component as a first option. Cavet: no expert here and practically no experience with Apple phones. Inexperience on the part of the troubleshooter may also lead to further potential damage to the unit which is a situation I have reconciled myself with when working on my own equipment. Suggest you also take this into consideration if, as you have pointed out, "you are cheap, cheap, cheap". As they (whoever they are) say "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". :-)

@propman That makes sense to me. I'll see what other comments are posted over the weekend and plan on taking it apart early next week. Thanks.
