No reponse from SD upgraded iPod Classic, swapped numerous parts

So months ago did the SD upgrade - super easy, super great. Until…just the other day it died and would not respond at all. I have a couple ipods so I switched the battery (a known good working battery). Nothing. Got a different brand of CF to SD adapter cuz I read of them going bad. Got a different CF board. Nothing.

It won’t power up, it won’t respond to reset, itunes does not recognize it. I’ve reformatted the SD card 3 times now (full, not the ‘quick’ kind)

Everything is plugged in/inserted fully (battery, ZIF, hold, etc).

I’m running 6th gen classic, ebay cf to SD board, Digigear SD adapter, SansDisk SD card, new battery.

I’ve done a TON of research, the only thing that’s a unknown is the logic board.

Thanks ahead of time.

(EDIT): Try holding Menu and Center for a few. Works when my iPod acts up.

You may wanna inspect the device. Check that the cable is not torn, the cables are inserted correctly and nothing is out of place. if all else fails, try a different logic board, just take everything and put it on the new board and you should be good to go!

If you wanna transfer your data, you could buy an adapter and plug it in to your computer and make a copy of all your stuff. Good to keep a backup just in case..

Yeah I tried the ol’ menu + center reset (been using that for years) and absolutely nothing would happen. I ended up buying a broken ‘for parts’ ipod on ebay and swapped the new guts (adapter, SD card, etc) into the new/broken one and it fired right up. I’m guessing that points to a bad logic board.

@Jim Alrighty then! Good luck and enjoy your "new" iPod!
