MacBook Pro only boots in single user or target disk
I recently tried to replace my hard drive with an SSD and, well, that didn’t go great.
It worked fine until I tried to do a time machine restore on the new drive. After that nothing boots on my computer anymore — not the new hard drive, not the old one. They don’t boot up connected externally either.
It however boot externally on other computers. I reinstalled the OS on the drive from a different computer and it runs fine.
On my laptop however nothing boots. It won’t boot in safe mode or recovery mode either. It will boot in single user mode, diagnostic & target disk.
When I try to boot normally it shows the Apple logo and the loading bar. After it finishes loading, it goes to a white screen, then black, then tries to reboot endlessly.
I ran fsck in single user and everything came out normally on the drive.
ive tried PRAM reset, SMC reset, draining the battery, cleaning the inside of the computer, and nothing has helped.
any ideas?
