I’m attempting the replace the battery in my S6. Over an hour I gradually increased the heat of the iOpener until it was too hot to touch and the phone was warm, not hot, to the touch. I applied alcohol around the edge. The glass never showed any sign of loosening or beginning to lift out of the case. Do I need to heat the phone until it is even hotter?

you have to start taking out the glass, if you don't have experience, order a new glass and break it. Is not hard, you need to heat the glass and with a spudger or plastic cards you start opening your way, you can also use a suction handle and plastic cards. (Gold Color Phone sometimes lose the color layer), don’t forget that there is a charging wireless coil there and you can damage it.

You need to take your time with this phone. It's seriously glued (back glass)! And you need something very thin to get between the back glass and the phone. As Fernando said, be careful for the Wireless coil in there. When you got the plastic card or opening pick in you can work your way through. Just put a few drop of isopropyl in to make it easier. And again, take your time with this one, it's possible that you need to re-heat again (make sure it won't be too hot) if the tools won’t go in.
