iPhone se touch intermittently unresponsive

I fixed an iphone se from another account by typing in the original password, It does not have a camera, mic or that module with the stuff at the top. other than faint white marks on the screen(it is a water damaged iphone 5s screen) it does not have display problems. The iphone is not slow because when the screen becomes unresponsive i click the home button or lock it and it responds instantly. After a couple of minutes of the screen off the problem is fixed temporarily for about 3-5min. pls help

Try with a new screen and if the problem is still there probably it’s touch ic chip problem.

You can get a replacement one from eBay for cheap of course not a original one, but whatever you are getting it to try is the problem from the LCD. You can find a good ones for 15-20$

I do have a soldering iron that can microsolder. I watched a video on how to replace a 5S chip and I saw this guy use some brownish substance on his board but i dont know what it is. do i need a heat gun or the substance or can I order the touch ic and fix it?

Yes you can order a touch IC to replace. That substance is called a Flux, you need some good one. Because not everyone are good no matter the price. Get Flux - Kalafonia and Isopropyl Alcohol mix a little bit of both to get a good flux for soldering. You need also a heat gun , a tweezers, microscope for better accurate microsoldering, heat tapes.
