Battery died while updating firmware rebel t6i - won't select "okay"

While updating the firmware on my Rebel t6i from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1, the battery died. Now it will not allow me to continue the update - placing the battery goes straight to

“Firmware Update Program

Update Firmware?

1.0.0 -> 1.0.1

OK…but it doesn’t let me select “OK” just stays right there.

Touch screen, nor any button makes a difference.

Can’t turn it off, removing card does nothing - only removing battery, and as soon as there is a battery, it looks on the SD card for the firmware update and begins, but freezes at the “OK” button that I cannot select.

Did I brick the thing?
