How to fix a paper jam

I have a paper jam with the message “Jam in output bin. Open rear door and clear jam”

I have done all of the things recommended on iFixit site and on the HP support site videos and nothing works - do you konw if there are repair options or should I bite the bullet and buy a new printer?
