Random trackpad & USB bus die - OK on restart

Randomly, my trackpad will stop working. Video play or whatever was going on continues on the screen. On one of these instances, I plugged in a USB mouse and it didn’t work either. Holding down power key and forced restart solves the problem.. but in a matter of weeks it happens again.
