adityak253  single vertical lines most common one or two pixel wide are caused be a failed TAB connection of the driver board to the panel. Of course it will depend on what that line looks like so you do want to consider posting some good pictures of what you see with your question. That way we can see what you see.

If it is a single thin line, then take a really close look at those TAB connections and apply some gentle pressure on them. You will most likely see that the lines either change or disappear That is incredible difficult to fix but sometimes some downward pressure applied y some adhesive tape etc. can make the m go away for a while at least. If you have trouble identifying the ribbon and Tab just post some more images of what you see on the top of your LCD panel. It should look something like the images I attached.

Hi oldturkey03,

I saw your reply regarding the white line issues; thank you for the explanation.

I have a Sony OLED I bought from Costco late last year, and it just recently started having the same issue: a single pixel-wide, bluish vertical line appeared near the center of the screen.

When I push or squeeze around the TAB connections near the bottom of the vertical line (I have to push directly on the screen), the line may go away briefly, but even the slightest jostle can make it come back. Sometimes if I am lucky it will stay off for the evening, but then it could just show up again the next day.

You mentioned it is very difficult to fix; do you know if a failed TAB connection is due to some worn adhesive, bad solder, or just a loose screw/bolt?

I just wanted to explore my options on repairing versus replacing.

Since the TV was expensive and is still new (less than a year old), I did not expect it to start having issues so soon, but the line is fairly annoying and catches my eye each time I turn on the TV.

I bought the TV from Costco, and the manufacturer's warranty is 1 year, which is then extended another 2 years by Costco, and on top of that they provided another 2 years from Allstate, for a total of 5 years.

It seems the "easy" way would be to put in a warranty request to return the TV and get another one, but if possible I would rather not go through the trouble of boxing up and returning the old TV, and then unboxing and setting up another 77" television.

If I contact Sony directly, I am not sure if this is something that they can send a repairman to come fix, or if I would still need to bring it to a repair shop.

The other concern is if this single vertical line is a sign of a defect that will eventually cause more lines to appear down the road.

What do you think?

If TV is less than 1 year old, do not experiment anything. Just ask the sony guys to come and see. If they can resolve, they will give you a replacement

Did anyone figure this out? I have the same thing with my 65” A80CJ from Costco. Purchased less than a month ago and already have this line show up. I also read something similar with LG C1 OLED panel as well.

@jeff, I am having same issue with XR65A80CJ that I purchased about 9 months ago. Vertical white line started from yesterday, what and how did you resolve the problem, did Costco give you new replacement or refund?

jeff and @ujjwalstha those are all panel errors. Theses are not fixable but require a replacement. Since both your TV's should still be covered under warranty, have them replace the TV. If Costco does not cover it (I doubt they will) it will be covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

Yes, I hope they will replace it. I opened the case with Sony they are saying they will service them, I have told them it’s not that old to have it repair, I will insist them to replace it. Thanks for you advice!

I am having the same issue on my XR-65A80J Purchased 14 months ago. Ujjwal Shrestha did they replace the TV or did you have to go through with the repair?.
