entering a memory card in side of imac i missed the port and inserted it into the cd slot! cant insert cd without removing it first. tried the sticky tape no luck trying to find the small card inside

Turn it on its side with the drive slot facing down and shake it a little. It should drop right out.

Try taking out the disk drive and opening it up. But, that can damage the laser so try taking out the drive and banging it on the table.

so..opening the drive will damage the laser but banging it on the table won't? hmmm. I think mayer's advice is far more sensible.
Well, don't bang it hard. I think anyone with common sense would know that.
if you give instructions be specific...say gently, tell them which side to bang. Some people take instructions literally and next thing you know there's a heap of abuse because they broke their CD player. We just want the advice given to be the best it can be.
Bang it gently on the side that you put discs in.
