Hi, I have a 65 in Philips smart LED tv model number 65put6162/56. There is sound and backlight in the LED but the picture is not showing such as startup logo, source or anything else. I've checked all the capacitors on the electricity board as per the online guide but all the capacitors looks good to me. I don't understand what suddenly happen as I switched the LED off and the next day it was not showing any picture. Can someone please help me out to understand what could be the root cause of such a failure? maybe there is a software issue since this is a smart Tv or maybe some chip is fried and I have to shed some cash to get it repaired. Any helping suggestion will be highly appreciated.

@rdx420 … sounds like the issue is with the main board or the tcon. without a multimeter to test, only option is to remove the ribbon cables from the tcon board leading to the panels buffer boards. remove power, unplug one side of the ribbon cable, apply power. you should see a change in one half of the screen. repeat process for other side.

if you have a multimeter, you can test the fuse on both sides located on the tcon board. should read 12v. if no voltage is present, your main board has failed. if it does, further testing will be required.

it is possible that the software has been corrupted, in which case you should start by visiting the manufacturers website and check on software update download/instructions. if this fails, a new main board will likely fix the issue.

Thanks @jostewcrew for you suggestion to check the ribbon cables. I removed the ribbon cable for the left side of screen and the right side shows picture. Then I connected the left side ribbon and there was no picture showing even when I removed the right side ribbon.

Now what I did is that I removed a ribbon which connects the 2 electronic strips to show the picture on the left side of the screen and the picture started showing on 50% of the left side screen. Now my LED has 75% picture coverage while 25% is not shown where I removed the connection ribbon from.

My guess is that electronic strip which connects to the LED screen is faulty or the corner portion for the LED is faulty cause when I connect the ribbon for that strip the whole picture disappears and the I need to disconnect the ribbon again or maybe it's due to my maid spraying glass cleaner on my LED Everytime for cleaning and that liquid penetrated the LED.

PS. Please note that there are 4 electronic strips at the bottom of my TV which connect to the LED itself. The left main ribbon from tcon board goes to the left strip 1 and then there is another ribbon which connects from strip 1 to strip 2. Same goes for the right side as well. Just FYI

@rdx420 .... ok. your tcon is bad or your buffer boards are bad. typically, spraying cleaner on your glass lcd display will end up causing water damage to the buffer boards for the panel, not the tcon. always spray the cloth then wipe. never directly spray cleaner on the glass itself.

you can try and replace the tcon board, which may or may not correct the issue. but since you cannot purchase a new buffer board as they are attached to the glass ( better off buying a new tv ) it will let you know where the problem lies with certainty.

please upload pictures of the way the boards configuration inside. also a good full board close up of you tcon board and your buffer boards where the ribbon connector attach. need to see the image on your screen as shown without the tcon ribbon attached . do you have a multimeter and the ability to use it?

ok @jostewcrew I'll add some pics of the buffer boards and tcon board and screen itself. Sorry for calling them electronic strips. Also yes I have a multimeter and can use it. Please let me know what to do.

@jostewcrew I found an unusual silver hole on the ribbon leading from left corner buffer board (this is the buffer board which if disconnected the rest of LED starts to work) to LED screen. Maybe this is the damage due to which the led doesn't work?
