Upper left corner unresponsive most of the ti after panel replacement

Hi everyone!

I exhanged the shattered panel with the guide on this site and it went pretty well. The Ipad seems to work well except for one thing. The glued strips that came with the new panel don’t hold very well and I already ordered new strips.

But what’s really irritating is that the upper left corner is unresponsive most of the time. I have to press down on the lower right corner that won’t stay in properly to make it work. Any ideas what is going on? Should I be concerned? Or will this go away once the panel is glued in properly?

It could be a defective panel or the connector isn’t seated properly or it could have been damaged. You can inspect them when you replace the screen adhesive.

Pro tip: use acetone and Q-tips to remove the old adhesive from the metal frame of the iPad ( not the screen!) for better adhesion. Make sure you do it in a ventilated area or have a fan nearby as you can get a little light headed. Soak the Q-tip in acetone, don’t apply acetone directly to the frame and be careful around plastic parts. Also use some heat and either some weight or clamps to adhere the screen.

I'll check this when the adhesive arrives. I hope it's something that's fixable without taking everything apart again. I'm not sure I could do it again.

I did what you suggested but used isopropyl alcohol as I was worried about the plastic parts. Worked decently but I still had to use my fingernails to gently peel off the remainder. I inspected the frame before I put the panel on with a magnifying glass. The comments underneath the guide suggested to make sure that there were no glass shards left.

@Nina it sounds like it should be a quick and easy fix. I know a lot of suppliers have been having quality issues lately because of the virus.

@hootonberg You're giving me hope!

I bought the parts before the that from a reputable seller so I hope it's just the adhesive strips. I only had time to do it now.
