Could iOS 14 update switch off Dot Projector in FaceID?

Is it possible iOS 14 update switched off Dot Projector as it is not working in Protrait / Selfie and Natural Light.

Glass around it was cracked - but it looks ok - but HUNDREDS people on Apple Community complain iOS 14 killed their FaceID

Here is how my Dot Projector looks like

When something breaks, it is because it broke, not some software update excuse.

People look for excuses all the time.

same as with iPhone X?

Same as slowing down iPhone when partially good battery?

"Partially good" means bad.

Also slowing down iPhone is Apple messed up buying bad batteries, the slowing down part is logical.

I wouldn’t put it past apple to “disable” the dot projector to sell more devices like they tried to do with error 53, bricking iPhone X and 8 series when their screens were replaced, and slowing down older phones to sell new ones.

so far I got only one person on Apple Community forum confirm is Dot Projector works but FaceID not which makes me worried as my Dot Projector not working in Selfie and Natural Light

@Bart cameras can pick up infrared light so if you have another camera or phone on hand you could test it that way.
