PS4 2020 unrecognized disc I TRIED EVERY ONLINE FIX

I have a ps4 White Destiny edition purchased in 2015. Unrecognized disc started in late 2019 and is still going with EVERY GAME DISC drives will work to play DVD’s & blu ray but that is all. PLEASE NEW SOLUTIONS ONLY turning the system vertical, using new disc, cleaning disc, tapping, replacing drive with new one with new lasers, Switching the motherboard when the drive switched, cleaning the whole system And ALL safe mode start up options. There Is literally No solution posted on the internet that has not already been tried so please only new ideas and solutions or feel free to comment if you are (Unfortunately) in the same situation. Thanks in advance:)

Thank you so much for letting me know I'm not the only person in the world with this problem. I've rebuilt data base did safe mode updates tapped it changed how it sits vertical or horizontal and totally replaced the Blu ray drive currently trying to find some way to transfer all FIFTY games I have installed on my system and three terabyte drive in order to do a total system reinitialization in hope it fixes the problem. If it helps I finally found out it's caused by an unknown bug and happens after either a system or game update. I do remember getting a system update not long before it started at first it only affected a few games but rapidly grew to all disc implying viral growth pattern. So hopefully a total system reset will fix my problem although I'm sure with fifty games I'm halfway through something will go wrong and I'll lose all progress. Please update me if you find a fix. I'm not looking forward to hard Factor reboot. Not even sure that will fix it as there's very little about this out there

Sarina Simone I am old so I get confused easy. "Switching the motherboard when the drive switched" Does that mean you changed your motherboard or your dive? We really need to know what you did so we can follow up with what you already have tried.

The laser assembly of your drive actually has multiple lasers for the different types of disks. If it plays one type but not the other it is most likely a bad laser assembly in your drive. It is replaceable. If you change the complete drive then you must be aware that the optical drive is "married" to the motherboard. You must remove the daughter board on the original optical drive assembly and install it on the drive you intend to install in your PS4. Remplacement du lecteur BluRay de la Playstation 4

Tried a new drive with a new motherboard then someone said use the original motherboard with the new drive so I’ve tried both and neither worked.

did you change the daughter board when you changed the drive? If not then your symptoms right now are from an "unmarried" drive.

This is a CUH-1215A drive there is no need to transfer boards https://youtu.be/x65rDBE9mJM 12:07 (time mark) Here is a video of the exact console I have and drive being replaced and explaining how there is no need for board transfers and it began to work completely fine In this video but I have done this to the t as seen in the video. new drive and it worked initially but failed soon after and unrecognized disc popped up again.

Same video listen to what @tronicsfix says @ 12:18 "the older PS4s you had to replace the green boards....." possibly that yours is just one of those. The video shows the disk drive being replaced in a CUH-1200 series PS4. If yours is not one of those (what serial number is yours?) I would think that this is not the way to go. I would still replace the drive with the same model drive and switch the daughterboard to get it working. @tronicsfix is undoubtedly the game console guru here and hopefully he'll make a suggestion about what ails your PS4.

Mine is the the exact one in the video there’s no board to be switched so replacing it straight up as in the video should have worked and initially did but began showing “ unrecognized disc” again that’s why I also believe this issue has to to with software issues somehow and not the hardware

If BD movies work, then there is unlikely any issues with the hardware itself.

What’s the error message when the system rejects a game disc?

It Just says .... unrecognized disc, cannot recognize make sure the disc is not damaged or dirty and that it is not inserted upside-down

I found with mine strip it down to the disk reader and give the lense a wipe with a lcd cleaner worked for me

Hey man I have this problem as well and we have basically tried every solution too. Have you tried swapping any external hard drives and re downloading al the games?

Mine wont play bd movies either so thinking the motor driver ic is faulty
