WHY won't my PS# play games,DVD's, or blu rays?

My PS3 does not recognize Games, DVD's, or Blu Ray discs. The warranty seal has not been breached however, it is out of warranty. I bought it on Ebay, and it was advertised as YLOD. But it powered up just fine when I plugged it in. Just won't read discs. I tried booting into safe mode and rebuilding the HDD database but that didn't help. I have fixed YLOD on several other machines so that's why I purchased this one.

you did get the database restored and its just your optical drive that is not working?

Had no problem rebuilding database. A YouTube video listed that as a possible fix for not reading blu rays. It won't read any discs. I have now disassembled the blu ray drive and see that the mechanism is trying to pull the disc in too far. Then, the disc does not spin nor does laser come on. The eject function is not working properly either. The little plastic post is stuck up so the disc cannot eject.
