Is my motherboard still salvageable? Power supply connector torn off

Hi,

I was trying to replace thermal paste and followed some YouTube instructions and didn’t realize that the psu-connector on the mobo was incredibly fragile in mine (probably because it’s ~5 years old?). My PS4 model is the CUH-1215A.

I inadvertently almost tore it off and my PS4 doesn’t work anymore.

My only concern right now is whether or not is it salvageable. I’ve seen other similar post but theirs seem to “broke off” in a much cleaner way compared to mine, adding to my uncertainty.

At the bare minimum, all I’m hoping for is a long enough uptime so that I may backup all my stuff to my cloud storage and that way I could just get a new PS4 (or PS5).

If it’s possible to “fully” restore the mobo/psu connection, even better. However, I am not a technician, nor do I want to attempt it—especially after this fiasco. It would be great if you could direct me on who/where/what to search for with regards to a soldering technician that can help restore it…

Any answers greatly appreciated, thank you!

@tnoob yes it is repairable. Take a look at thise question Ripped off the pad to the psu connector on my PS4. Fixable? as well as this one Broke the power supply off the motherboard needs to be soldered and may require jumpers etc. Anybody that does board repair should be able to assist you with that. Best person on here would probably be the game console guru @tronicsfix

@oldturkey03 thanks for responding! That's a relief and when you say anybody, does it include the typical repair shops? I tried going to @tronicsfix 's website but it seems they don't repair PS4 originals anymore...

I was also "shopping" around earlier to find a local repair shop and found "xCubicle". I'm a bit concerned because they do not provide warranty for this kind of repair when I asked them about it. Also, what's your opinion on "UBreakIFix"?

Would you have a recommendation on how to properly assess a technician's "credibility" (I guess..?)? Or maybe how to reach out to board repair technicians in the forum (I'm not sure if it's possible; I'm a very new member...)?

Thank you!

@tnoob we usually do not make any recommendation on anyone other than the ones known to us. Check on here https://www.ifixit.com/Business for professionals that do board level repairs. I am certain that they can/will help you out.
